About
I am a Professor in Computer Science at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, one of Sri Lanka's leading state universities, with over 25 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence. My work centres on intelligent systems, machine learning, natural language processing, evolutionary computing and swarm intelligence.
I have served as Coordinator of the MSc in Computer Science programme and as Chairperson of the Board of Study in Physical Sciences at the Faculty of Graduate Studies. My academic work includes extensive research supervision, curriculum design and interdisciplinary programme development.
I have published in journals and proceedings indexed by IEEE, Springer and Scopus, and have received multiple President's Awards for Scientific Publications in Sri Lanka, as well as international scholarships from the EPSRC (UK) and the Asian Development Bank. My research aims at real-world applications of machine learning, evolutionary computing, swarm intelligence and NLP, through both rigorous academic inquiry and collaborative industry engagement.
